Hello, Its really impressive. I was wondering if you have mustache templates that comes with it? if not mustache template, have you used any other templating language to develop this theme?

I am using backbone and handlebar templates in our front end web development, if we can get the handlebar or mustache templetes when I buy this, it will become easy to integrate it our app. please let me know before we buy it.

Thanks in advance
Hi Ravi,

We don't use Mustache templates unfortunately.
In the sources/htmls tough you will find ERB templates.
To make it work with Mustache replace `<%= variable %>` with `{{ variable }}`.

Kind regards,
Emerald Admin Team

I loved this template. I have found a bug in this template i.e. Insertion of images/videos in Rich text Editor. I am using Chrome browser in Mac OS 10.8. When this will be solved?

Before I buying out, I need to know,
1) Whats your next upgrade timelines?
2) Any ways of support via email or skype?

Hi Samuel,

We created a ticket for your issue and are investigating,
We hope a new release, mostly bugfixes, by the end of this week.
It also depends on how much it takes for the site admins to approve the new version.

Please file support requests by contacting us on:
It is connected to our email.

Fixed in 1.1.0
so these are done using ruby ERB templates? How hard it is to convert them to mustache templates? is it a straight forward search and replacing the tags?

If they are ERB templates, how are you using ruby to generate the HTML files? The reason I ask is that we use RoR for backend Rest APIs.

Hi Ravi,

While you can do a hard find and replace, I don't think it will be very helpful for you.
Your best option is probably to follow the documentation for the components you want to use, and compliment that with analyzing the existing templates / generated code.

In regards to your second question, please follow the tutorial in doc/intro.md
You can find the generated html files in the build folder.

Kind regards,
Emerald Admin Team
One more thing, if you also use Rails, our theme works great with the asset pipeline, our code being Sprokets compatible. Talk to one of your Rails engineers, they will find the integration easy.
thanks for the quick answers. I don't think we will be using rails to serve our webapps, instead its used only for REST resources. Also we will be moving to Java based Spring Boot or Grails platform soon.

All I need is either mustache or handlebar templates for each type of UI component or in whole as you have it in the preview site. Would it be possible for you to convert them into one of these templating languages? It will be worth spending time to adopt to our needs if we have them written in one of these templating languages, please let me if you can convert them for us.

Thanks in advance
Hi Ravi,

Unfortunately, we do not provide custom development services at this time.
Please leave a contact email using the support form at:

This is a really impressive template. Stunning and striking to look at. Love the UI and gradient detailing. I am following this and looking forward to purchasing it. It's great to see an alternative to the current flat design trend. Really smart. I look forward to buying this soon.
Thank you for your kind words!
Hi I notice when scrolling up and down that the side navigation panel seems to judder about. I'm using an iPad mini. iOS7. Perhaps it's just me, thought I would let you know. Thanks again for such an awesome template.
We created a ticket for this issue!

I really love this template. Its exceptional design.

I have to check template before using them to check IE9 compatibilty. (I do not like IE but unfortunately i have to support atleast IE9). I notice also in IE9 that the right side bar navigation that should be sliding out does not seem to function. I have checked this a few times and it does not appear to work in IE9.

Also - I really love the functional movable widgets like Jarvis Widgets, I am currently developing a project which is using these. I believe there are only a few templates that offer the widgets with the local storage like this, and yours is one of them. Kudos!

I notice when i delete a couple of the widgets from the dashboard, and then click the > Reset Local Storage button, it returns a 404 Not Found. Again, i am testing this in IE9.

Thanks again for such awesomeness. I wish you best of luck in sales and this being one of the best templates here on Wrapbootstrap.
Thank you for your kind words!
We created tickets with your bug reports, and hope to address them soon.
All reported issues are fixed in 1.1 to be released early in the upcoming week.
Request: split out base variables from _variables.scss. Host app may need to first include the defaults, then override for branding (colors, fonts, etc) and then include further SCSS that depend on those values.
Done in 1.1.0
Thanks, I got the early 1.1 you sent me but I'm not sure this is in there. Perhaps I could explain what I was hoping for more clearly?
Rename _tabdrop.css to _tabdrop.scss, otherwise not found by SASS
Done in 1.1.0
Noted, will analyse this for our next release!

Love, love, love the theme and we are seriously considering using it. One thing that would make this totally incredible would be if there was some way for not using the sidebar and have the option of putting some menu items on the top bar. Some admin themes permit you to hide the sidebar and that makes it so much easier to adopt it for 'consumer' sites.

Thanks for the good work.
The sidebar is optional, feel free to remove it's markup. See the documentation in doc/offcanvas on what NOT to use. Will add an example in the next release. Also, if you read the docs, you will see that the offcanvas is highly configurable, you can set default states for each device size (hidden, partial, open).

Feel free to add menu items in the top bar, it's actually a .navbar, as per bootstrap documentation:

Okay, thanks, will do. We will buy it and experiment!
Hi. This is a great looking theme with many features. I do, however, find the docs somewhat lacking in explaining the bundled build system. For someone who has never built templates using this approach before, it's a little confusing. For example, is there any way I could compress and strip down the application.js-file as a part of the build process - it ends up being a staggering 3.1MB in size. I would also like to do the same for application.css (1.8MB). Also, what are the polyfills and the .js-based CSS-parser used for?

These are a couple of example of things you could put somewhere in your docs in my opinion :c)

Thanks for a great theme! :c)
Hi effkay,

For more documentation on the build system check the middleman docs, they are quite comprehensive:

To minify and gzip assets set the environment variable EMERALD_BUILD=DEPLOY
Alternatively edit emerald/config.rb and take the following directives out of the conditional:

activate :minify_css
activate :minify_javascript
activate :gzip

We have the assets unminified by default, as a lot of people want to be able to edit the build directly.

Minified and gziped the javascripts have about 370kb and css about 830kb. Most of that, tough, is the code for third party plugins that we bundle and you may not use, like Selectize, Datatables etc. You can take these out of the build and the code will decrease dramatically.

The polyfill is used to implement css blur filters on browsers that do not support it (non webkit). The css parser https://github.com/Schepp/CSS-Filters-Polyfill
The CSS parser is part of the polyfill, but since we only use the JS interface for it, and since it's verry compute intensive, we do use it. It's optional, if you want filters in your css to be detected automatically.

Kind regards,
Emerald Admin Theme
This must be the most comprehensive admin theme I've ever seen! Well done!
Just one thing I would like to know before we buy.does this theme come with a psd-file?
No psd file unfortunately, we design directly in HTML. You can still buy it though :)
Why do you need a psd file anyway, when you got the real thing ?
Thanks! Actually I don't need one. It's just that sometimes it's easier to rapidly create a mockup to show the client and/or end-user. But thanks anyway, I did buy the theme and I'm just getting started with it. Seems great!
Massively disappointed to find out this is all bundled up with Ruby... Way to waste my time. Would have been nice to mention that on the description, I wouldn't have purchased it had I known that.
You will find just the resulting HTML files and assets in the build folder. No ruby in there.
Where I can look at latest 1.1.0 release?

It's already submitted for publication and pending approval.
If you buy the current version shoot us an email at [email protected] and we'll send you the latest version.
Will it be easy to upgrade the theme when you release a newer version? What will be the procedure for that? Will it be included in the documentation?
The upgrade consists of replacing the 2 files that you put in your project:
application.js and application.css
In the description you mention that Angular.js can be a first-class citizen, but does the theme depend on it? I intend to use it with purely jQuery and Backbone and would prefer not having Angular included as well.
The theme does not depend on Angular.js.
You can use it just fine with just jQuery and Backbone.
You should have mentioned that the theme is effectively a rails template. Whilst it's not a lot of work to change that, it would have been useful to know upfront and should be mentioned on the details page.
The theme is not a rails template. We use the sprokets build system internally and we also offer it for convenience.
You just have to use the resulting application.css and application.js, no rails involved.
Please give us an email at [email protected] to receive the latest version.
I used to work with Backbone and want to reuse my components and views (and don't want to learn other framework like Angular...). But I can not get the Esmerald distribution and Backbone working together. Can you give me the method for including Backone into the build ?
Please email support questions at [email protected]
You can include backbone alongside Emerald just fine, they are fully compatible.

Just add it In your html's head:

<link href="../stylesheets/application.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<script src="../javascripts/application.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script src="../javascripts/backbone.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
