Hi

Do you have plans for bootstrap version 4, if so is there a target date for a version supporting this version.

Best regards
Duncan
Hi Duncan,

Thank you for contact. Yes, I have a plan for Bootstrap 4 in Homer. As soon it will be released as a beta version (currently it is alpha so it may have some major changes) I will start work on it and provide upgraded project.

Hi, I am evaluating Homer for possible use in a commercial app. I am trying to build the Angular Seed project and Grunt produces a 'dist' that will not load.

There are two problems I can see: (1) the vendor.css is not created, and (2) the vendor.js seems to be missing something because the browser throws an error at load:

scripts.ed27cd35.js:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined

I see how it is supposed to work (looking at gruntfile.js and the build tags in index.html), but it does not work. Is it working for you? If so, can you send me that code?
Hi,

Thank you for contact. If you run 'grunt build' on the oryginal Homer theme then it will create a production ready project in your dist folder. If you changed something and your build system not work, then probably you may have some issue in code. If you want any help with debug it, feel free to contact with me on support emaial.

Hi, thank you. Yes, that is how it should work, but it doesn't.

(1) the vendor.css is not created, and (2) the vendor.js seems to be missing something because the browser throws an error at load:

scripts.ed27cd35.js:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined

I have not changed anything, Please try it yourself with the current download and tell me if it works for you.

Thank you!
Dan
Hi Dan,

Yes, the original package work well, we tested it many times. Homer is available for long time and no one ever reported this so it may be some environment issue, probably with the build system. Please contact with us on support email for further support.

Hello,

It's a very great theme!

I have a back-end REST API with a Forum that I implemented (with NodeJS/MongoDB/etc). I liked your Forum pages. The AngularJS implementation that you did, is ready for call http requests with a REST API back-end?

Thanks in advance,
Hi,

Thank you for contact and kind words. About your question, in Angular app basacily what you need to do is to create a Factory module with $http service and get data from your node api. Then in the view part you need to simple loop through your list and render each item. Homer is a front end interface so we not provide factory or backend examples but if you will need any help, feel free to contact with me on support email, I can try to help you or guide with simple code example.

Any plans to release a version for Ruby on Rails?
Hi,

Thank you for contact. Unfortunately no, currently I don't have plans for Rails version for Homer. If more users will ask I can of course consider it in future versions.

Hi,
I'm using twitter's typeahead.js and it seems my suggestions are not styled at all.
I don't know if homer's css is disabling something.
Is there a way to work it out ?
Best Regards,
Claudio
Hi Claudio,

Thank you for contact. Typeahead should work as it use simple dropdown bootstrap code. I have also plan to add this feature, I will use this library if you are interested: https://github.com/bassjobsen/Bootstrap-3-Typeahead

Hi, I'm trying to set the timeout period and then show a display form to inform the user the session is about to expire, is there a way to configure this using MVC5, I mean, included in the current version?
Hi,

It depends if you want monitor user activity or just add simple timeout no matter of the activity ? If you want to have simple timeout then you can do it with setTimeout() function and use toastr notification. If you want to monitor user activity then you need to use some library like this: http://thorst.github.io/jquery-idletimer/prod/demos/

thank you!, you've helped me a lot.
Hello there, right now I'm using your Inspina theme, the Ruby+Rails version. I'm wondering if i can use this HOMER theme with R+R as well?
Hi,

Thank you for contact. In current release there is no Ruby on Rails version for Homer. Of course you can use for this HTML/CSS version but for sure it will required additional work.

Hi

I lover this template. However the ng-grid package (version 2) for AngularJS is now ui-grid (version 3). The older ng-grid has been deprecated for some time. When will this be upgraded as I really need this for real-time functionality?

Many thanks

Tim
Hi Tim,

Thank you for contact. Yes, I know about the new 3.0 ui-grid. I will upgrade it in new version.

Hello Sir,

we should have separate folders like a client, Lib, Server, Public in the meteor.
But all the folders are inbuilt inside the client in the Homer Theme.
So , I have a problem with the collections while storing and retrieving the data from forms.
So, could you please help me how to store and retrieve the data from the homer theme
Hi,

Thank you for contact. You didn't mention about what project are you interested, so I assume that you are looking for Meteor yes ? If you look at the folder of Meteor version for Homer then you will see the standard structure: client, public, server.

ok so ive started working with this theme again. decided to do a clean addition and move to scss from less (wow speed improvements with grunt are nice)

some thoughts.

--------------------------------------------
1.
need to modulise the theme more. various.scss is a cesspool of hurt. removing it will take away soo many other options. so left with manually removing the parts which is sad. would be nice to be able to comment out parts like

@import "timeline";
//@import "contact";
//@import "calendar";
@import "text_editor";
@import "grid";

that you dont need anymore. even if there are hundreds of files still makes it easier to get the leanest css file output. will definitely make things easier for developers. right now i keep deleting blocks and then suddenly find that the .has-error {} stuff got removed cause i was trying to just remove demo stuff.

--------------------------------------------
2.
since using a theme it would be nice to not have to change much markup for the theme to apply. so stuff like .hpanel {} should just be .panel

seriously consider removing the prefix. or better yet add it as a variable $style-prefix: ""; would just output .panel {} vs $style-prefix: "h-"; would make it .h-panel {} and .h-modal {} etc. but by default it should just replace existing markup. applies to modals / bg-.. / etc

ive checked a few other themes and yours is still the best option to make it drop in to replace default. really nice.

--------------------------------------------
3.
name all the demo styles demo-navbar.scss / demo-layout.scss etc

--------------------------------------------
4.
because of the demo stuff being ingrained in the theme css the main nav bar gets a bit messed up. once the above stuff has been taken care of consider adding an eg of a "normal" top navbar with text links and drop downs. sort of the same as http://htmlstream.com/preview/unify-v1.9.4/intro.html maybe. (menu dropdowns)
Hi,

Thank you for all your suggestions. I will definitely consider work on them to improve Homer them. Thank you.

also in the documents. maybe link to the plugins site. for instance http://webapplayers.com/homer_admin-v1.9/alerts.html

it uses sweet alert and toastr. maybe have a link. like for instance:

http://codeseven.github.io/toastr/demo.html
https://github.com/CodeSeven/toastr

a couple of places i got a bit confused if its inbuilt or external plugin.
Hi,

Thank you for this suggestion. All third party plugins are listed in description page (credit section) with link to the original source. The idea to group them and list based on page it ok, I will also consider to do this in future release. Thank you.

How do I add/ style a normal top header menu (not sidebar menu)? The examples use icons, but no text menus.
Hi,
I am using Angular full version. I made slight modifications and built the site using grunt build. When I visit the site on mobile devices or iPad, the text is really small. Rest of the site is responsive, but text sizes are too small. Where can I fix text size for entire dashboard so it looks proper on desktop as well as mobile devices?

Thanks
