I can not get the template, as it shows live preview. What should I do
Hi JIMANOPE,

Follow the instructions for installing the 'demo' here: http://rubix-docs.sketchpixy.com/node/demo

We provide the 'demo' in a separate directory (rubix/demo). You can use it as a reference while implementing your own dashboard with Rubix.

Hey sketchpixy,

I'm using your laravel-seed for a project, but instead of homestead I'd like to user laradock - any experience or tips in getting it running?

I got node happening on the workspace container, but stuck on how to access the app.

If you have got a working dockerfile, let me know. thanks
Hi sekmun,

We haven't tried laradock yet. We might implement an integration for it in a future release. If you would like to integrate with laradock you need to first build and install v8js on it. You can take a look at laravel-seed/after.sh bash script file that we provide for steps to get v8js setup. Once you have done that, you can run your laravel app in the docker instance. However, the Node app can be run in your development environment too. No need to setup Node inside the docker instance. The whole idea of this setup is to ensure that you can run Laravel independently of Node with Node only being used for building the frontend.
Hi, again.
I'm a very amateur in react, it may be a silly question.
I'm trying to use the component LineSeries in the ' src ' folder, and pops up the following error when running the console:
'Uncaught ReferenceError: Rubix is not defined'.
I copied all the elements of the ' bower_componentes ' folder for the correct import
What am I doing wrong ?
Sorry,i found my error.
No issues :)

I would say the documentation is a real let down. This template is not for beginners / intermediate.
To remove the pages in the sidebar panel, not sure how much time i need to spend?
Hi rahu,

Are you trying to use the "demo" as your starting point? If yes, then you would have to remove a lot of pages. Use the starter kits we provide instead. These have only 2 pages in the Sidebar panel. You can remove those pages in src/common/sidebar.js. Should not take more than a minute.
Give me a pure meteor version beta, please ?
Hi Sergison,

The final version will be included in upcoming release. Please send a mail to support@sketchpixy.com for beta access.
I would like to get your opinion about how to use css.
1. Currently, I want to customize "app_stylesheets", because I keep css with the js file, for example, for pageA.js, I have pageA.css in the same folder, and import "pageA.css" from pageA.js. Webpack will bundle these css files in production mode, and generate the bundle "app.css". So I need to add "app.css" to the "app_stylesheets".

2. keep the css/scss files in the "sass" folder? So the css/scss files are separate from the js react component files.

What do you recommend?
Hi nliu2008,

We recommend you go with the second option. If you however want the ability to import your CSS files along with your React components then we also have a CSS module integration (which will be available in the upcoming release). Just let us know the seed project you are using in a mail to support@sketchpixy.com and we'll provide you access to a new seed project with CSS modules integrated.
Hi, I'm trying to change some of the themes. I can modify _theme.scss to make some changes but how would I go about changing the text color of the sidebar items? I had a look at your documentation on mixins but I'm not really sure what to do.

Thanks!
Hi DanielvanNiekerk,

> Hi, I'm trying to change some of the themes. I can modify _theme.scss to make some changes but how would I go about changing the text color of the sidebar items? I had a look at your documentation on mixins but I'm not really sure what to do.

Which part of the Sidebar do you want to change the text color for? The Sidebar header, Sidebar Nav button color or SidebarNavItem colors?

If it is the SidebarNavItem colors, you need to manually override the style in your main.scss file like so:

html.default body .sidebar-nav > li >a {
&.name, &.rubix-icon {
color: red; // your own color here
}
}

Hello sketchpixy,
can you estimate roughly when you will publish the apollo version?
Regards
Toby
Hi Toby,

Apologies for the delay. We have finished the integration. We are currently writing the documentation/tutorials for the various Apollo integrations (we have 3 in total) apart from improving documentation for other integrations as well.

If you are in a hurry, we can provide you early access. Just send a mail to support@sketchpixy.com and we'll send you the ZIP files.

Hi Proyecto2017,

Thanks for the report. Can you please let us know the Node and NPM version you are on?

$ node -v
$ npm -v

also the OS (along with the version) that you are trying this out.
Node v7.4.0
NPM 4.0.5
SO Debian GNU/Linux 8 (jessie) 64-bit
HI sketchpixy,

I didn't receive any answer
Hi Proyecto2017,

Apologies. Don't know how we missed replying to this. Can you please check if you have two conflicting Node versions? This error props up only if you have a Node version that is old (possibly v0.12 or less). Also, can you please send us the output of:

$ npm ls

to support@sketchpixy.com? We want to check if babel-runtime is installed correctly.
How can i push this react application into IBM Bluemix.

Hi there,

I've tried to install the template like in this tutorial:

http://rubix-docs.sketchpixy.com/others/custom-integration

Once installed I try to search for the cutom-project template but it does not exist.

I do have a @sketchpixy/rubix dir in my node_modules folder for my app, but inside there is no custom-project folder.

Please let me know what I need to do next.

Thanks in advance
Hi Gazpa,

First make sure you have downloaded Rubix 4.x (4.1.0 is latest) and not an older version. After you unzip the downloaded file you'll find a folder called "rubix". The custom-project folder is inside that: rubix/custom-project.

Hope this helps :)

It does! xD

Just one more thing, I am going through the documentation and it is valuable if at least you have some pages structured. Starting from scratch is kind of what you want to avoid when buying a template...

Is there a way to add a general structure with the header and the sidebar, and then just let us edit the main content and the items of that sidebar and navbar?

This would help much since I do not have much experience with react and at least I can edit things on a well built structure, don't know if this is too much to ask.

Thanks in advance!
Hi Gazpa,

> Just one more thing, I am going through the documentation and it is valuable if at least you have some pages structured. Starting from scratch is kind of what you want to avoid when buying a template...

Which is why we provide seed projects :) Why don't you use them instead of doing everything from scratch? If you want a general structure with header and sidebar etc it's best if you use one of the 6 seed projects we provide. If you cannot for some reason, you can always copy the contents of the "src" folder from the node-seed project to your own project and then start editing from there.

Hi,

I need to integrate Font Awesome icon to this template can you please help me with the same,

Manoj
Hi Manoj,

We already provide Font Awesome integration. It's part of the "Fontello" package (See: http://rubix410.sketchpixy.com/ltr/fonts for the list). For example, the Font Awesome "ok-circled" icon font would be:

<Icon glyph='icon-fontello-ok-circled />

Hope this helps :)
Hello,

I've got a question regarding licensing:
We built a toolkit in which we use rubix. Therefore, we changed and improved and customized rubix. Now we thought about redistribution. In case of extended license would it be allowed to offer the toolkit which includes rubix with code.

kind regards
Hi schmittr,

> We built a toolkit in which we use rubix. Therefore, we changed and improved and customized rubix. Now we thought about redistribution. In case of extended license would it be allowed to offer the toolkit which includes rubix with code.

Yes you can purchase an extended license for this use-case. As long as you don't redistribute this toolkit as a template you should be good to go!

Hope this helps :)
What do you mean with "as a template". It is a kick-starter project (toolkit) for a certain kind of software.

The adopted Rubix does form the frontend. But at the beginning it is pretty much empty and one can add forms and whatever is needed. We would not say it's a template and not distribute it as such, as it is meant and improved to run with the whole stack, that we deliver. What would you say?

kind regards
Hi schmittr,

> We would not say it's a template and not distribute it as such, as it is meant and improved to run with the whole stack, that we deliver. What would you say?

Thanks for the clarification! You can go ahead as it falls within the usage terms of Extended License :)

Hope this helps :)
Hello,
is a drag & drop function fur widgets implemented which i havent seen jet?

Kind regards
OliverKK
Hi OliverKK,

It isn't implemented. However, it should be easy to implement one using: https://github.com/STRML/react-grid-layout. Just wrap your PanelContainers within ResponsiveReactGridLayout and you should be good to go!

Hope this helps :)
Hello,

Where can i find documentations on using Rubix Charts? How do i use them?

Regards,
Sathish
Hi Sathish,

Currently we don't have a documentation for the charts but we have provided examples that covers all the functionalities in the demo/src/routes/AreaSeries.js, demo/src/routes/BarColSeries.js, demo/src/routes/MixedSeries.js, demo/src/routes/LineSeries.js, demo/src/routes/PieDonutSeries.js and of course demo/src/routes/Dashboard.js files. We will be including documentation for it in the upcoming release.
Is it possible to push this application into IBM Bluemix?
Hi suri2157,

Yes it's possible to push to IBM Bluemix. However, keep in mind that if you are using MongoDB and GraphQL then you need to configure MongoDB service in Bluemix as described here: https://console.ng.bluemix.net/docs/services/MongoDB/index.html#MongoDB and make the changes to data/database.js file to your relevant seed project.
I've had issues with other templates where the root path was strewn throughout. This is an issue when I need to host multiple services on one Linux box using Apache (Django and nodejs). Will this template work with attempting to proxy all the requests to "/dashboard"?

For example, I would be doing this in the apache config:
ProxyPass "/dashboard" "http://localhost:8080"

More info on how this works here:
https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_proxy.html#proxypass
Hi bstrange,

Yes you can do it with Rubix. We use a reverse proxy ourselves. However, your directive should be:

ProxyPass "/dashboard" "http://localhost:8080/dashboard"

With a route defined to handle it client-side in src/routes.js. This is important because we also use client-side routing and that requires routes to match correctly (doesn't matter what the origin (can be localhost, domain or a sub-domain) is as long as the "path" is consistent).

Hi,

I'm Still waiting to hear back, i m stuck with React Dynamic Datatable.
Can you please revert me with some solution asap.

Manoj
Hi Manoj,

See the documentation for "Server-side processing": https://datatables.net/examples/data_sources/server_side.html

Have provided a simple example that queries a SQL backend:

1. React component: https://gist.github.com/shripadk/efca885dd9ae2a4fbe77
2. Backend code (this handles all cases viz. Sorting, Filtering, Pagination, Grouping etc): https://gist.github.com/shripadk/135bbcfce3167cd86a1a
The issue i am facing that application is successfully pushed into bluemix.But unable to activate css and js files for application.
Hi suri2157,

Did you run:

$ npm run build:prod -s

before pushing your application to IBM bluemix? Because you need the CSS/JS files to be generated in your production instance. Once you deploy, all you need to do is run:

$ NODE_ENV=production PORT=80 npm start -s # use sudo if necessary

in your production environment
Any template for the Timeline in react? I can't find any Code that is similar to that in the Demo. :/
Hi Electrofenster,

See rubix/demo/src/routes/InteractiveTimeline.js for the implementation. You would also need to import timeline.js in your src/plugins.js file like so:

import 'js/vendor/timeline/timeline.js';

Hope this helps :)
