Attention!

Dear users,

The latest release of SmartAdmin 1.4.1 has one typo inside the 'smartadmin-production.less' file.

For the fix:
Please go to line 10 of 'smartadmin-production.less' file and change:

@import "3.1.1/mixins.less";

TO:

@import "3.2/mixins.less";

I will be submitting this fix for the approval shortly.

Thanks,
MyOrange

Hey MyOrange,

I bought this template when it was version 1.3. I manually converted it to Angular JS and have had great success. Great job on an awesome template!

I had to slice and dice the template so much to make it work with my Angular setup but I think I'll go ahead and upgrade to 1.4.1 despite the effort it will take. This time I'll try to engineer it in such a way that future upgrades will be easier to migrate to.

One thing that would be nice is a stripped down version completely free from all the demo stuff. Maybe just a simple shell which has the navbar and menu and a blank main page. This would be easier to work with when starting to use the template rather than having to strip out all the unnecessary demo html and javascript.

Thanks again!

Hello again,

I was just playing around with the angular version and realized that there are memory leaks. If you browse around the menu for a while the memory usage keeps climbing and climbing until eventually, for me, it hit 1GB and then the tab crashed in chrome. Other browsers are probably worse.

The worst offender seems to be data tables but that's not the only page that causes the leaks. I'm guessing pageSetUp() introduces some as well because there seems to be a lot of initialization code which happens on each route change but no cleanup.

When writing applications as SPA's with a framework like Angular it becomes extremely critical to handle cleaning up resources, DOM references, event listeners, etc. on each route change.

In a normal stateless application such as your PHP version everything is cleared each time the page is refreshed so memory leaks aren't as big of a deal. When you're in a stateful application where the application lives in the browser's memory indefinitely while the user clicks around the app then memory leaks can cause trouble fast. This is especially true for an admin type application where the user could conceivable browse around views with complex tables, graphs, etc. for long periods of time without doing a full refresh of the page.

Any input on this? Is this something you plan on addressing? Thanks!

Hi MyOrange,

Awesome template. I really enjoying it so far. One question though: How can I change the top border color on the active tabs (defaults to a blue color)? I thought it would just be based off of @brand-primary, but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick when I change it. Can you help?

Thanks,

docfan
Hello Docfan,

That is not a border color that's a box shadow :)

Its using the base variable @blue inside main.less file from line 1770.

Please email us directly via our profile page for any other support related questions. I am trying to keep this channel for comments, feedback and pre-sale questions area.

Hello! How can I configure the ajax-routing that links are of a type - "www.site.com/ajax/dashboard/" OR "www.site.com/dashboard/" will work, without the "#!"? I use PHP MVC framework.
Hello,

Yes this is possible but not right out of the box, currently the "#" hash tag triggers a jquery event, you have to change the mechanics of how the URL is addressed. For example you could add a data-attribute-link to your nav items instead of the actual link, you then need to program this and integrate it to the "loadURL" function, so instead of calling the URL you will be calling the data-attribute that contains the page link.

Thanks,
MyOrange
Thank you so much, I'm working on it.
And thanks for your wonderful work!

First congratulations on your work.
I am using php version as a template and the form (form-options.php) Registration form.
I have a problem in validating using the "select2" class. the field is not red like the others. Please note:

<section class="col col-4">
<label class="label">Campo 1 </ label>
<label class="input"> <i> class="icon-append fa-calendar"> fa </ i>
<input name="nomeacao"> type="date"
required <b class="tooltip tooltip-bottom-right"> field </ b>
</ label>
</ section>

<section class="col col-4">
<label class="label">Campo 2 </ label>
<div class="form-group">
<select style="width:100%" class="select2" name="natureza">
<option> value="" selected="selected"> </ option>
<option> value="1"> 111 </ option>
</ select>
</ div>
</ section>

reproduce this locally and you'll notice the difference when validating. tks.
Hello,

Please send me an email with your html code and I will take a look at it.

Hi,

Could you please make the smart-form controls work with the bootstrap wizard and release an example of this.
Hello,

Can you tell me the issue you are having with this?

Thanks
MyOrange
FYI...I have added this to the todo list for future update.
Could you please make the $.sound_on option work with the $.SmartMessageBox?
Are you using the latest version, V 1.4.1? Please check the app.config file.
Thanks for your reply. I was using V1.4. It's fixed in V1.4.1. I have also checked the source code of smart notification. May I suggest to not create audioElement in $.SmartMessageBox if $.sound_on is false? Moreover, it would be better that the $.SmartMessageBox has an option to switch the sound on/off. Many thanks. Excellent work!!!
I think that;s a very good suggestion, it would make perfect sense to do so. I will add that to our to do list right away!

Thank you!

Hi, I really like your theme and had a quick question about it. I'm going to use it for an ember.js project, which version do you recommend purchasing that will work best with ember?

Thanks!
Hello,

I am not too familiar with ember.js, if it plays well with jquery then you should be able to use either the AJAX or the vanilla HTML Version.

Please let me know if you have any other questions :)

Hi and thanks for your response and the addition to the todos concerning the wizards. If you try to add class="smart-form" to the bootstrap wizard's form in order to use the template's form elements, every content above the header loses its margins and the form-actions panel is extended over the wizards width.

One more thing about the template's grid system, it lacks the functionality to specify different layouts on different widths (classes col-md, col-lg, etc), so im thinking of using bootstrap's grid with your form elements for example like this
<section class="col col-md-2"><label.....</section> but im not really sure it works as expected inside a smart-form. For example you have this rule: @media screen and (max-width: 600px) {
.smart-form .col {
float: none;
width: 100%;
}...
If possible it would be better if you extended bootstrap's grid with better visual styles but leave the widths as they are.. unless you plan to implement the above boostrap functionalities. For me the ideal would be to be able to use bootstrap's grid inside a smart-form and be able to produce the form templates as in the "Smart Form Layouts" page.

Hi My Orange,

I bought your template for an asp.net project I am working on. So far so good! Great template btw!
One simple question though:
1. where/how can I add my own sounds or change the sound for each individual smart notification?

thank you!
Hello,

There are several ways to do this.

The MANUAL method:

1. Open up "SmartNotification" JS file from the COMMON_ASSETS folder.
2. Do a search for ".mp3" and you can change the names of the ones you like

The built-in method:

1. When declearing the call method you can specify the sound name in the settings "sound_file: 'your_sound_name'," (there needs to be an mp3 and ogg versions of the same sound file)

The override:

1. This is the most easiest method, you can just replace the existing sounds with yours.

Thanks,

Hey MyOrange,

I love the Widgets but I also love ngAnimate. Do you plan on getting the jarvis Widgets to play nicely so that I can use ngAnimate in my smart template application?

Cheers,
Drammy
Hi Drammy,

We have spent countless nights trying to figure out a way to do this, at the end we realized that AngularJS was not well built for the animation part. The way it works, AJS copies the newly loaded content to another container which sits behind the current content, it then fades out the old content while fading in the new, it executes the javascript functions for the new page before the old content gets removed.

This confuses Jarviswidget as it does not know which page is being loaded, as both page content (though one of then is hidden) are being present at the same time. We have emailed google's AJS team about this and waiting for an update. The AJS's animation engine needs to change slightly for Jarviswidget to work properly.

You can still use both but you will lose the localStorage benefit. To do so, open the app.js file and turn off localstorage for Jarviswidget, you will then be able to use anAnimate and also Jarviswget. You can modify the code further and save/load widget settings via datatabse which might give you more control.

Thanks,
MyOrange

OK, makes sense, thanks for taking the time to explain and suggesting I pull the settings from the db instead - will do this instead as it makes a user's experience the same on all devices.

Cheers.
MyOrange,

You think, Can I use this template (angularjs version), with Apache Cordova?

Thanks,
Abdoulrahim
Hello,

It should be OK as we did not use any backend code with our themes, its purely front end.

Thanks,
MyOrange
Thanks. You made a great work!
There are only one thing that i want to see in future updates:
- Support of history API, instead of current ajax nav realization with hashes

It is not so important, and could be made for a few minutes. But just i want to use it right out from the box.
Hello,

Everything is already being pushed in history, even with the hashtags. You just need to close the default Wrapbootstrap iframe in order to see the history properly getting inserted.

Thanks for the sass support. But there is some bugs. The result looks different. Colors are not correct.
For example progress bar background color
.progress-bar-danger {
background-color: #57889c;
}
but must be
.progress-bar-danger {
background-color: #a90329;
}
And the some pages looks different ex.:http://192.241.236.31/themes/preview/smartadmin/1.4.1/ajaxversion/register.html
and the sass version has bad padding.
Hello,

I have taken a look at this and you are absolutely right, we are fixing this bug right away and will be pushing out the release patch soon!

Thanks,
MyOrange
Ahh and regarding the register page, we changed the class name, please take a look at the new register page and see the new DOM change with the class.
There were a few typos. I have fixed them - please email me and I will send you the updated SASS files.

hey i'm using PHP_AJAX_Version . I have one problem.. When i click on menu . it work properly.. but when i oepn it to the new tab with right click. the page can't get css. Give me solution of it.
Hello,

I just replied to your email.

For others who are having a similar issue:

"New Tabs" it is not doable as you are trying to directly open the raw AJAX files - which has no CSS link to it. If you wish for this feature (open in new tab) you must use the PHP HTML Version or the AngularJS version instead.

Hello,

On the login page, the <body></body> does not stretch to the bottom of the page. The <html></html> is 1920x955 and the <body></body> div is 1920x518. For the layout that is not a problem, but i have a contact modal popping and the bottom part is not shown because it uses the body area to display.
Is it possible for me to do a quick adaptation to the CSS, without destroying the layout ;)?

Thank you in advance,
Tim

One more problem. When I use the EasyPieChart, the initial animation is correct. But after a while the number in the circle is recalculated to a extreme value (-123232% of 29328%). Is there some kind of javascript recalculating values?

If needed, I can give screenshots of both issues.

Regards,
Tim
Hello,

Please upload or send me the raw HTML file for your first question so I can see what the issue is. For part two re: EasyPieChart, I did not experiment with such sensitive values though I don't see there will be an issue, you may need to dig deeper by going over to the EasyPieChart website which contains a detailed documentation of the plugin.

Thanks,

Hello,

We just emailed you. The placement of your modal should be adjacent to #main div (not inside it). Otherwise you confine the space of the modal by adding the relative inheritance class from its parent which would be the #main div.

Hi! Thank you for your amazing template.
I have a question tho: where do I modify settings for datepicker so I could change year ?
Thank you!
Hello,

For the bootstrap datepicker you can refer to this website here for a detailed documentation of how to change these values:

http://tarruda.github.io/bootstrap-datetimepicker/

The override would be something like:

$.fn.datetimepicker.defaults = {
maskInput: true, // disables the text input mask
pickDate: true, // disables the date picker
pickTime: true, // disables de time picker
pick12HourFormat: false, // enables the 12-hour format time picker
pickSeconds: true, // disables seconds in the time picker
startDate: -Infinity, // set a minimum date
endDate: Infinity // set a maximum date
};

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Hello MyOrange,

I was wondering if you could recommend a clean way to remove the menu all together.

I have added a new class for "no-menu" for the next update. I can send you the new CSS - you will then need to add the class to the body tag.

Thank you! When is the new version coming out - if soon, I might as well just wait for it.
Sending it is great as well!

Btw, it is awesome that you respond so promptly - its really appreciated.
You are welcome! I am trying my best - we may need to hire a few more crew later on to speed up the response rate to an average 30 mins - 1hr.

We have a bug tracker, I am sure you know, that shows all coming updates:

Once we release the update, its up to Wrapbootstrap to approve and release into the marketplace, which can generally take from 1 to 3 weeks.
Hello MyOrange,

Kudos on a great looking template! I'm interested in purchasing Smart Admin, however I must be able to support a top menu in IE9, which appears to be broken.

Are there plans in the near future to fix this for IE9?

Thanks
Hello,

I double checked on IE9 (screenshot link below):

http://myorange.ca/themes/preview/smartadmin/tests/ie9-top-menu.png

Everything is working as it should, are you sure you are loading all assets correctly?

Thanks,
MyOrange
Sorry, I was not clear... please click on "UI Elements", then "Icons" to pull up the Icons sub-menu. Please note on my browser, clicking on Icons doesn't bring up a sub-menu and also the menu that's displayed when clicking on "UI Elements" had a vertical line through it.

Thanks for you time!
I am a bit confused as you mentioned "click" for the horizontal menu. The horizontal menu is all CSS based, CSS3 to be clear, and its all hover to expand - so it should be 100% working even on IE8 for that matter. I am not sure what your settings are in your browser. I happen to test this with browserstack.com (very reliable source - used by github, microsoft, adobe etc) and did not find this issue either.

Here is the screenshot:
http://myorange.ca/themes/preview/smartadmin/tests/ie9-top-menu-expand.png

If you can give me more detail via my email (through the profile page).

Thanks,
MyOrange
