Template has not been updated to latest bootstrap for long time now.
Also all the gulp tasks are in CommonJS format, but the world has largely moved on to ESM based modules. Even trying to update your current scripts requires a lot of changes to bring them to ESM format because a lot of the new version dependencies no longer support CommonJS format.
Sad to see this template languish with updates. Hopefully someday it will improve.
