Your code should work fine, the only thing that is probably breaking the execution is the inclusion of jquery and bootstrap@3.3.6. jQuery is already available in the template so you don't need to include it again, and Bootstrap is also included in the template but is version 4, which will produce errors in styles in if you include v3 Try removing both libraries and reload the page.

Hi again, sorry for the delay. I've been checking the plugin a bit more and found that there's some issue with the collapse of child items, do you have this issue too? I also see in their repository https://github.com/jonmiles/bootstrap-treeview that is an archived project and seems to be not more maintained, I know it's working but perhaps there's some conflict with newer libraries.
Just in case, do you have a link for the playground you have been trying to implement this plugin?
